The Neon Pink Single Jersey Fabric is a circular-knit textile produced with fluorescent pigment dyestuff on a polyester-elastane base. The 88% Polyester and 12% Spandex ratio provides a smooth jersey face with controlled stretch and rapid recovery, while the 200 GSM weight places the fabric in a mid-light band suited to fitted garments. At 155 CM cut width, the fabric supports standard marker planning for tops, leggings, and bodysuits. The neon pink shade relies on fluorescent dispersion dyes that demand careful thermal control during dyeing and finishing, since excessive heat degrades the optical brightening effect that gives the color its high-visibility characteristic.

I PROCUREMENT ADVANTAGES

Fluorescent Color Yield Fluorescent pigments deliver a color return that conventional disperse dyes cannot match on polyester. The neon pink reads as a high-visibility tone under daylight and responds strongly under UV lighting, which supports safety-oriented and event-driven garment programs.

III PERFORMANCE DETAILS

Color Fastness to Light

Fluorescent shades are inherently more light-sensitive than conventional dyes. Extended direct sun exposure causes gradual loss of the fluorescent component first, with the base pink remaining longer. Storage and display conditions should be specified for finished goods.

Drying Behavior

The polyester majority limits water absorption, supporting faster drying than cotton jersey of similar weight.

Opacity

At 200 GSM the jersey holds coverage under moderate stretch. For deep-stretch applications, a slightly heavier weight may be preferred.

Thermal Sensitivity

Fluorescent pigments degrade under excessive heat during pressing or drying. Finishing temperatures should be held at the low end of the polyester range to protect the neon effect.

Hand-Feel

The jersey face is smooth and cool to the touch, with modest body from the 12% elastane content.

Recovery

V CUT AND SEW DIRECTIVES

A Needle: Ballpoint 70/10 to 75/11. Sharp points can create picks along the jersey face that are visible after dyeing.

B Stitch: Four-thread overlock for seams, cover stitch for hems. Differential feed should be balanced to avoid waviness in the elastane-rich fabric.

C Relaxation: Allow 24 hours of open relaxation before cutting. Jersey with 12% elastane carries internal tension that changes panel dimensions after unrolling.

D Pressing: Low temperature only, reverse side preferred. Direct high heat on the neon face causes irreversible dulling of the fluorescent effect.

E Washing: Cold wash, mild detergent, no chlorine bleach. Chlorine attacks both the fluorescent dye and the elastane component.

VI PURCHASING QUESTIONS

Will the neon shade match across repeated production lots?

Fluorescent shades require tighter dyestuff control than conventional colors. Retain a physical standard from the first approved lot and match subsequent lots against it under the intended lighting condition. Minor variation is possible and should be agreed before bulk commitment.

How long does the fluorescent effect last in use?

Fluorescent pigments fade gradually under UV exposure. Garments used indoors or under controlled lighting retain the effect far longer than garments worn outdoors in direct sun. Care labeling should advise against prolonged sun exposure and high-temperature drying.

Is this jersey suitable for sublimation decoration?

The polyester majority supports sublimation in principle, but transfer heat can compromise the existing fluorescent dye. For decorated programs, confirm through sampling that the sublimation step does not dull the neon base before committing to bulk.

What shrinkage should be planned for after laundering?

Expect modest length shrinkage after the first wash. Pre-washing or size allowance at cutting is recommended for programs with tight dimensional requirements. Confirm against your internal wash standard during sampling.

Does the fabric meet high-visibility standards?

Fluorescent color alone does not constitute certified high-visibility performance. Certified programs require retroreflective elements and standardized testing. This fabric serves as a base for such programs but should not be treated as certified on its own.
